After a loss on Tuesday, the Nokomis High School volleyball team bounced back on Wednesday, April 7, with a strong two-game win over Mt. Olive.
The Redskins would take a pair of close games against the Wildcats, beating the visitors 25-21 in game one and 25-19 in game two.
Olivia Taylor closed in on double digit kills to lead the attack, posting nine kills. Kristen Stauder added in six kills, while Audrey Sabol chipped in four. Mia Fesser and Presley Lamb handled the setting duties, with 13 combined assists.
Fesser also led the team in service points, with 11, while Stauder added in seven points and a team-high 17 digs. Delaney Keiser also had double-digit digs, posting 13 for the Redskins, who improved to 4-9 on the season.
Nokomis nearly picked up win number five of the year on Saturday, April 11, but a pesky South Central squad held on for the two-game win. The Vipers would take game one 25-21 in Franklin, then held on for a 26-24 victory in game two.
The Redskins close out the season with a busy final week. They will have home games against Pawnee on April 12, Morrisonville on April 14 (senior night) and East Alton-Wood River on April 17, with a road trip to Father McGivney mixed in on April 15.
