Lady Redskins Roll To Seventh Place

Posted

On Monday, Dec. 30, the Nokomis Lady Redskins traveled to Carlinville to play in their last game of the holiday tournament against the Minutemaids of Bunker Hill. The teams were playing the seventh place game in the middle school gym.

The Skins were ready to get back on the right track with a win, and they knew they could capture one against the Minutemaids. Even with a high amount of turnovers, the Skins dominated the game, winning 45 to 18.

They were knocking down free throws, getting wide open layups and playing with defensive intensity. They were up 27 to 11 heading into the locker room at halftime.

Coming out at half, the Lady Redskins proved they were there to win as they extended the lead even more. They defeated Bunker Hill 45 to 18.

Scoring was evenly distributed to each Redskin player. They were led by Audrey Sabol with ten points, while Mia Fesser knocked down three threes, adding nine herself. Macee Eisenbarth assisted with eight points and Hailey Engelman contributed five points.

The Lady Redskins are back in the gym, preparing for a string of tough games against tough opponents coming up in the next couple of weeks.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, in addition to welcoming the Pana Panthers to town, the Arrowhead Open Committee will be unveiling the total that was raised during last year's golf outing.
