Lamar R. Yeske, 90

Lemar R. Yeske, 90, of Witt, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 2:40 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Witt United Methodist Church, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. by Irving Lodge #455.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in Witt Cemetery. Military rites will  be provided by Waples-Bauer Post 94, Nokomis American Legion. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Yeske was born July 13, 1929, in Witt Township, the son of Shirley and Viola (Fesser) Yeske. He married Doris Tarren on Jan. 14, 1951, in Nokomis, and she survives.

A graduate of Witt schools, he was a member of the Witt United Methodist Church,  Irving Masonic Lodge and the Witt Fire Department. He served in the Korean Conflict with the Army Security Agency. He had worked and retired from Caterpillar in Decatur.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Susan (David) Tschopp of Owasso, OK,  and Brenda (Jerry) Degg of Henderson, KY; sons, Larry (Debby) Yeske of Irving and Gary (Donna) Yeske of Witt; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Degg.

Memorials may be made to the Witt United Methodist Church.
