Vandalia put four players under 46, including medalist Chase Laack, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Litchfield Country Club as the Vandals knocked off Taylorville and Montgomery County foes Lincolnwood and Litchfield in a quad match.
Laack would be the only player in the 30s on Tuesday, shooting a 3-over-par 38 on the day. His round would be three strokes better than his closest competition, teammate Jacob Schaal and Lincolnwood's Sam Herman. Herman's 41 would pace the Lancers, who finished second to Vandalia by 17 strokes, 186 to 169. The loss would be Lincolnwood's first of the young season. Litchfield would finish third with a 198, while Taylorville brought up the rear with a 206.
In addition to Herman, the Lancers also got a 46 from Devin Brown and a 48 from Will Jenkins. Nate Brockmeyer would add the fourth scoring round with a 51, while Michael Graham and Braxton Schmedeke were not far behind with a 52 and a 53 for Lincolnwood.
Litchfield's Anthony Boston would be right behind the top three with an 8-over 43 on the day. His younger brother, Zach Boston, would be three strokes behind him with a 46, with Allen Schneider and Blake Rentz finishing out the scoring with a 54 and a 55.
