A solid showing on a hot day kept Lincolnwood undefeated on the season thus far as the Lancers took the top spot in a four-team match at the Litchfield Country Club on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
The Lancers would shoot a 164 on the day, with three players shooting within six strokes of par. Litchfield would take second with a 180, while Vandalia would edge Taylorville for third with a 185 to the Tornadoes 186.
Sam Herman and Michael Jones would lead Lincolnwood and tie for the second lowest round of the match with a pair of 40s. Taylorville's Tyler Davis was the only player to break 40 on the day, shooting a 4-over-par 39 to win medalist honors.
Dade Pitchford would add in a 41 for the Lancers, while Andrew Skinner contributed the fourth scoring round with a 43. Braxton Schmedeke and Devin Brown also played in the match, shooting 46 and 51 respectively.
Litchfield would be led by Anthony Boston, who tied Pitchford for the fourth best round of the day. Jeremy Frazier would add in a 44, while Jayden Marten shot a 46 on his home course.
Billy Beckham and Brady Bishop would both shoot 49s for Litchfield, with Blake Rentz finishing off the six-man crew with a 55.
The Litchfield JV team also got some work in on Tuesday, putting seven players on the course. Jake Jurgena would lead the second team with a 59, while Nick Braasch added a 60. Kelvin Dooley, Jacob Frerichs and Haydan Brown all shot 61 on the day, with Cam Frerichs and Allen Schneider rounding out the squad with a 63 and a 64.
Litchfield will be off until Tuesday, Sept. 4, when they play Auburn, South County and Taylorville at Lakeshore Golf Course in Taylorville. Lincolnwood has two matches to end the week. They will be at home against Carlinville and Carrollton on Thursday, Aug. 30, followed by a road trip to Brookhills in Springfield on Friday, Aug. 31, to face South County and Springfield Lutheran.

Litchfield Fifth At Greenview
The Litchfield boys golf team scored a top five finish in the Bulldog Invite, hosted by Greenview High School on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Country Hills Golf Course.
The Panthers would shoot a 368 to beat sixth place North Mac by 11 strokes in the 17-team tournament. Rochester would take the top spot with a 339, while Tremont (350), Pleasant Plains (358) and Jacksonville-based Routt Catholic (359) joined Litchfield in the top five.
Anthony Boston would lead the Panthers with a 16-over-par 88 on the par-72, 6,414-yard 18-hole course in Greenview. Boston would tie for 14th overall, missing a top ten finish by just two strokes.
Billy Beckham would also turn in one of his best rounds of the young season, shooting a 90 to finish two strokes behind his teammate. Jayden Marten would add in a 92 for the Panthers, while Brady Bishop also broke 100 with a 98 for Litchfield's fourth scoring round.
In addition to the top four, Jeremy Frazier and Blake Rentz also played for Litchfield, shooting 100 and 121 respectively.
Tim Rice of Tremont would win the tournament with a 6-over-par 78, beating Murphy Kell of Rochester, who had the same score after 18 holes, on the third playoff hole.
Litchfield's next match will be at Lakeshore Golf Course in Taylorville, where they will face the host Tornadoes, Auburn and South County on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
