Larry Gene Everett, 85, of Harvel, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2:32 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 1, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.
Mr. Everett was born July 25, 1937, in Litchfield, to Jessie Glenn and Edna Pauline (Fisher) Everett. He married Gloria June Schmidt on Aug. 31, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, and she survives.
He was a veteran, having served in the Illinois National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Everett was employed for many years as an automotive detailer, working for Hittmeyer Auto Sales, Bandy Chevrolet, Raymond Ford and Victory Lane Ford.
He enjoyed tinkering with cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and decorating for Christmas. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Everett is survived by his sister, Sheila Reed of Iuka; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Mize of Bunker Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
