LaVerne R. Bell, 51, of Nokomis, died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at 1:41 p.m. at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Nokomis. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 12, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Nokomis Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born April 21, 1968, in Springfield, to Laverne R. and Linda (Murkin) Bell, Sr. He married Kelli Sheamanuel. He later married Rena L. Perry on Sept. 12, 1998, in Nokomis, and she survives.
He served as pastor of the First Pentacostal Church of Nokomis.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by his father of Mechanicsburg; children, Cody Bell of Nokomis, Tyler Morse of Taylorville and Cassie (Jeremy) West of Oakdale, LA; grandchildren, Eli Sepulvado, Corbon Morell and Kashton Morell; half-sister, Bobett (Danny) Noble of Buffalo; and half-brother Rick (Linda) Bell of Cumberland Furnace, TN.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Michael Bell, in 1994.
