Lawrence N. Albert, 90, of Brighton, died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at 8:45 p.m. at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Due to COVID-19, private graveside services were conducted Friday, Sept. 11, at Shipman Cemetery, where he was buried in the Albert family plot. Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton assisted the family.
Mr. Albert was born April 27, 1930, in rural Shipman, to Ira and Mabel Albert. He married Merle Adelle, and she preceded him in death.
He lived in Macoupin and Jersey counties all his life. A lifelong entrepreneur, he was a farmer, banker, builder and angel financier, working every day until his injuries in 2019.
Mr. Albert is survived by his six children, Colette (Lyn) Miller of Brighton, Chris (Marienne) White of Litchfield, Mary Albert of Godfrey, Barbara (Jeff) Kruse of Brighton, Clinton (Cindy) White of Godfrey and Carroll (Shirley) White of Brighton; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Clemence, Cathern, Loyd and Donald.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Brighton.
