Lenora May Hensley, 89, of Hillsboro, died at 3:47 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs.
Cremation rites are being accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hensley was born on May 17, 1935, in Sorento to the late Louis and Lola (Jarman) Boyd. She was a 1953 graduate of Greenville High School and pursued her career as a secretary at Utlaut Hospital in Greenville during the 1970’s. She married Urban Neal Hensley on June 2, 1977, in Iowa. She loved sewing and making ceramic dolls; she practiced her craft well into retirement. Throughout her lifetime, she had resided in Greenville and Haines City, FL, for over 30 years.
Mrs. Hensley is survived by her daughter, Kathy (husband, Harold) Reynolds of Hillsboro; granddaughter, Kacey (husband, Andy) Robertson of Peterson, WV; great -grandchildren, Rhydian and Raelyn; stepgrandchildren Bill (wife, Cathy) Reynolds of Shakopee, MN, Bob (wife, Melissa) Reynolds of Hillsboro and Belinda (husband, Dave) Joyce of Coffeen; and sisters, Leola Wall of Sorento and Lela Collins of New York.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fritz Jahnssen, which ended in divorce, and her second husband, Neal Hensley, who died in 1992, both of Greenville; son, Fritz Jahnssen Jr., who died in 2020; brother, Louis of Iowa; younger sister, Louise, who died in childhood; and sister, Lois (husband, Delmar) Ruppert of Michigan.
