Lentz, Walker Score Top Fives At GNCC Stop

Walshville’s Travis Lentz and Morrisonville’s Jhak Walker were among the 177 riders to hit the Tiger Run course at Big Buck Farm in Union, SC, the fifth round of the Grand National Cross Country series  on April 17-18. 

Lentz would finish fourth in the 65cc (10-11) class, completing five laps in a time of 1:20:41.218. Walker would do just as well, taking fifth in the Super Mini class, with a time of 1:27:32.930 for seven laps.

Overall, Walker finished fifth in youth bikes, while Lentz was 81st. The duo were two of the five from Illinois to race in the youth bike class, with Davin Shike of Alexis finishing 13th in the 85cc  (12-13) class, Austin Burns of Peoria finishing 12th in the 85cc (7-11) class and Maxx Starevich finishing 18th in the 85cc (7-11) class.

The next GNCC stop is closer to home as the series makes its way to Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN, on May 1-2.
