Leona L. Sievers, 78, of Litchfield, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 4:35 a.m. at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Ms. Sievers was born June 23, 1941, in Litchfield, a daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Buesser) Sievers.
A graduate of Litchfield High School, she went on to attend the University of Illinois and Southern University of Illinois. She worked at Scott Air Force Base as a secretary and later as a project manager for Olin in Alton.
She played softball on a traveling minor league team. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf and photography.
She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Cruthis of Litchfield and Alice Mancewicz of Godfrey; nieces and nephews, Mike Mancewicz, Mark (Lisa) Mancewicz, John (Jill) Goldacker, Jody (Joe) Corso, Jerry (Kaci) Cruthis and Joe (Donna) Cruthis; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law.
