The recently released Avengers Endgame movie has been taking the world by storm. Your favorite heroes–Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye–are back at it again to beat Thanos and save the world.
But I think we should take the time to remember the heroes who aren't in the spotlight–the ones who do the good things of the world and don't get a lot of recognition for doing so. They do it out of the kindness of their hearts.
I want to take the time to point out an organization that is doing that right now. I visited the Pregnancy Resource Center in downtown Hillsboro recently for a school project. What really stuck out to me is how much they really enjoy helping people. I met with three volunteers. They really enlightened me on what they do there.
For those of you who may not know, the Pregnancy Resource Center is a center that focuses on helping pregnant women of all ages with lessons and mentoring to help throughout their pregnancy. They offer pregnancy testing and community referrals. They can refer you to someone if you need something that they don't have. They really appreciate their community as well.
But they are still in need of things that can help women coming in. They need things such as baby wipes, size five and six diapers, baby bath soap, children's pincher hangers and newborn toys and pacifiers. They prefer if newborn toys and pacifiers are new because they are very hard to sanitize. They will take strollers as well.
So whenever you think of heroes in the movies, just remember that you can be a hero yourself. Do what is right. Be a hero. Finally, just be you.
