When reading the newspaper, I noticed under the “court” heading that there were several domestic battery charges.
Dealing with the present virus and not knowing what will happen next leaves many lacking peace.
There is a peace to be found. “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7)
“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil” (II Thess. 3:3)
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Ps. 46:1)
“In the day of my trouble I will call upon you, for you will answer me.” (Ps. 86:7)
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (II Pet. 3:9)
Repentance is turning back to God and asking forgiveness. Jesus said in John 10:10b, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly,” and Rom. 10:9-10, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the ear one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”
This is the peace that passes all understanding.
