Litchfield Airport To Host Remote Control Jet Rally

The Litchfield Airport Authority and Roger Shipley's Route 66 Jets RC Club are again sponsoring a Remote Control (RC) Jet Rally from Friday, Sept. 7, through Sunday, Sept. 9. There will be approximately 30 contestants and 50 aircraft from all over the U.S. There will be scale models of military jets and high performance sport jets.

The public is invited to attend this event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

There is a $5 entrance fee for adults. Children 15 and under are free. Parking is also free. Food concessions are available, or patrons may bring their own food and tailgate in the parking area. Limited bleacher seats are available, so individuals are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.

Access to the event will be along U.S. Route 66 South, the "Mother Road." Turn west at Airport Trail, which is the road immediately south of the airport entrance. There will be signs posted for guidance.
