Litchfield High School Principal Doug Hoster has officially been out of the district on administrative leave since Thursday morning, Sept. 13, following allegations of misconduct.
Superintendent Debbie Poffinbarger would not confirm his absence, citing the confidentiality of personnel matters.
"I cannot comment in any fashion in regards to personnel matters," she wrote in an email last week.
Hoster confirmed being on administrative leave. He said he was escorted out of the building Thursday morning, Sept. 13, by Poffinbarger and Building and Grounds Coordinator Brett Holliday.
Originally, he was suspended on leave with pay, but was later suspended without pay following a formal investigatory meeting, Hoster said. Hoster maintains that the allegations against him are "so embellished or flat out made up."
At this time, the Litchfield Police Department is not investigating any criminal charges in this matter, according to Police Chief Lee Jarman.
In a written reprimand provided by Hoster, Poffinbarger recommends that members of the Litchfield School Board should terminate his contract. He awaits a pre-termination hearing with the school board members at an upcoming date to be determined.
