In compliance with the State of Illinois’ Restore Illinois guidelines the City of Litchfield has made some adjustments to the upcoming tourism event calendar and various aspects of Lake Lou Yaeger Recreational Area.
This year’s Independence Day celebration and fireworks display, previously scheduled for Saturday, July 4, has been canceled. Anyone interested in the permitting process for their own firework display may review the forms and guidelines on the Illinois Fire Marshal’s website at www2.illinois.gov/sites/sfm/Pages/default.aspx - the deadline is Monday, June 15.
The Litchfield Pickers Market will be postponed until Sunday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Litchfield. The tourism office is working to add a farmers market to this event.

Due to social-distancing guidelines outlined by the State of Illinois several changes will take effect at Lake Lou Yaeger Recreational Area.
All campgrounds besides the camping cabins will open on Friday, May 29. Visitors will be limited to groups of ten or less per site. Gatherings of over ten people are not permitted anywhere on park grounds. For reservations call 217-324-4771.
Boating is limited to ten or less per boat. Milnot Beach is not open but boating, fishing, and trails remain open.
