A young Litchfield man is dead after an apparent swimming pool drowning Saturday, May 30, in Litchfield.
Felipe A. Perez, 20, of Litchfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner’s office.
The call came in to Montgomery County 911 at 5:53 p.m. Saturday about a possible drowning at a residential swimming pool on Roberson Road in Litchfield.
“Perez was under the water holding his breath as others timed him,” Montgomery County Coroner Randy Leetham said. “After an extended amount of time, it was realized Perez had not come back up and was found unresponsive in the swimming pool.”
The coroner and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death, and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, according to Leetham.
