Litchfield Memorial Pool’s staff members met on Thursday, June 25, to discuss rules and guidelines regarding the upcoming season opening.
The pool will open in conjunction with phase four of the Restore Illinois Plan on Monday, June 29.
In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, Litchfield Memorial Pool will limit entry to 50 swimmers at a time. They plan to offer two four-hour swimming shifts every day to accommodate more people. Each day, with the exception of Saturday, July 4, the pool will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the first shift and again for the second shift from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Between shifts, the pool will be shut down for cleaning.
The pool will not offer any private parties or passes this year. General admission is set at $3.75, and $1 for swimmers 55 and over. Children three and under will be admitted for free but will still be counted in the 50 limit.
While Litchfield Memorial Pool is planning to offer swim lessons this year, all swim lessons will be private, one-on-one sessions. Each session will last for approximately half-an-hour and will be held between 9:15 to 11:15 a.m, Monday through Thursday. Makeup days will be held on Fridays if necessary due to weather. There will be 15 minutes in between each lesson for staff members to sanitize before the next group arrives. Cost is set at $70 per child.
While Litchfield Memorial Pool is moving forward with their yearly pool season, plans are subject to change depending on guidelines released by the state. To stay up to date follow the “Litchfield Memorial Pool, Litchfield IL” page on Facebook, where announcements are released.
