Litchfield School Board Holds Special Meeting

Members of the Litchfield School Board met for a special meeting on Wednesday evening, Sept. 12, at Litchfield High School.

After the meeting was called to order, the board immediately adjourned into closed session to discuss personnel matters. With all seven board members present, they met in closed session for about 45 minutes.

Following the closed session, the board unanimously approved several personnel items. They hired Debra Atwood and Jennifer Ferguson as instructional tutors, accepted the resignation of Andy Kassebaum as high school athletic director, hired Chance Davidson as high school wrestling coach and approved the resignation of Marian Bates as a non-certified staff member and bus driver.

After the special meeting, members of the board's negotiation committee met with a mediator and members of the Litchfield Education Association (teachers' union) about contract negotiations.

The next regular meeting of the Litchfield School Board will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, beginning at 5:45 p.m. with a public budget hearing.
