Members of the Litchfield School Board will meet tonight, Monday, Feb. 29, for a board of education retreat meeting. The meeting, which will be open in part to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at Litchfield High School.
"Based on several items discussed at the most recent board meeting, the board of education is holding a special board meeting for the purpose of discussion only," according to Litchfield Superintendent Jeff Strieker.
Among the items to be discussed are a review of the Fogleman Farms Trust and scholarship program, a preview of the Illinois State Board of Education training on April 2 and a program overview of the QZAB (Quality Zone Academy) program bonds.
"With these three items, no action will be taken," Strieker said. "The intent is to further educate the board on these topics, allowing them to engage in discussion, rather than me providing it to them electronically."
"Given that we have three new board members and a new superintendent, the time together discussing these topics will enable greater coherence," the superintendent continued.
Following the discussion, the board will enter into closed session to discuss personnel matters, as well as student discipline.
