Imagine Hillsboro and Opera House Brewing Company are teaming up to host Literary Libations (Books and Brew), a fundraiser for Hillsboro Area Public Library.
The evening of frivolity, literature and music will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Opera House Brewing Company. Those in search of spooky October outings, will not want to miss the official release of the Opera House's newest brew, Edgar Allan Porter.
In keeping with Poe's renown for the mysterious and macabre, the Opera House has created a dark yet smooth brew, a chocolate hazelnut porter.
Literary Libations will feature a chilling dramatic reading of Edgar Allan Poe's classic poem, The Raven at 6 p.m. The evening's entertainments will continue with live music by popular Nashville recording-artist Cary Miller from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in theme for the evening - the darker the attire the better.
A $5 admission charge will be taken at the door, which includes entrance and a raffle ticket for a prize basket filled with $50 worth of goodies.
The drawing will be held at 10 p.m. on the night of the event. Attendees do not need to be present to win.
Proceeds from Literary Libations (Books and Brew) will benefit Hillsboro Area Public Library's new building renovations.
