Lloyd E. Taylor, 86, of Pana, died on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at 4:38 a.m. at Heritage Health: Therapy and Senior Care in Pana.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Kennedy and Sons Funeral Directors, P.C. in Pana. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Pana.

Mr. Taylor was born Sunday, March 19, 1933, in Brownstown, to Noah Albert and Nellie D. (Hunter) Taylor. He married Pauline LaVonne Zueck on July 25, 1959, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, and she survives.

He was raised in Pana and graduated from Pana High School with the class of 1951. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War era from April 15, 1953, to March 21, 1955.

During his civilian career, Mr. Taylor was employed as a truck driver for Swain and Myers, a millwright for Borg-Warner and was retired from International Paper in Shelbyville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Angel (Scott) Lynch of Witt; sons, Nick (Cheryl) Taylor and Jeremy (Stacy) Taylor, both of Pana; grandsons, Dirk Taylor of Oconee, Michael Lesser of Springfield and Derrick Lesser of Pana; granddaughters, Laura Strange of Shelbyville and Amber Miller of Mt. Zion; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dick (Dusty) Taylor and Charlie (Sue) Taylor, both of Pana, Bob (Faye) Taylor of Monterey, TN, and Neil (Bette) Taylor of Ruskin, FL.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Coady Miller.
