Lois M. King, 96, of Chatham, formerly of Raymond, died on Nov. 8, 2019 at HSHS St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Raymond. A Mass of Christian burial will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Raymond Cemetery.

Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family.

Mrs. King was born on Aug. 16, 1923, in Willow Hills to the late John and Marie (Cohoon) Miller. She married Charles (Carl) King on Nov. 9, 1945, and he preceded her in death.

An accountant for Barry Nursing Homes and Poggenpohl Construction, she was later employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation Water Resource. She was a member of the St. Raymond’s Catholic Church, along with the St. Raymond’s Altar and Rosary Society.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughter, Deb (husband Larry) Krager of Harvel, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by their beloved daughter, Sharon (Sherry) King, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to those with special needs in honor of her daughter, Sherry.
