Lois M. Stewart, 85, of Wilsonville, died on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 9:10 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, April 7, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, with Pastor Nathan Martin officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Worden Christian Church. Williamson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Stewart was born on Feb. 9, 1935, in Worden, to Naomi Anna Emma and Albert Deming. She married Jack Stewart on June 29, 1973, he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2005.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of First Christian Church in Worden, where she was known to pray for both those she knew and those she did not. According to her family, she wore her beliefs faithfully and those that met her felt her love and kindness immediately.

In her spare time, Mrs. Stewart enjoyed playing cards, games, coloring pencil art and putting puzzles together. She had a green thumb and a love for flowers, especially her roses.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her brother, Leroy (Chap) Deming of Lampe, MO; children, James Stewart of Livingston, Patricia Hicken of Mt. Olive, Bonnie Stewart of Gillespie, Joe (Terry) Stewart of Gillespie and Wayne (Sondra) Stewart of Worden;  daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Tom) Grider of Staunton; grandchildren, Tom Stewart of Seattle, WA, Kenny Stewart, Cory Stewart and Tim Stewart, all of Taylorville, Anthony Ferrero of Paducah, KY, Jimmy Ferrero of Nokomis, Bobby Pike and Stephen Pike, both of Mt. Olive, Michael Stewart of Melbourne, FL, Tonya Leitschuh of Leroy, Steffani Mansholt-Verduin of Chatham, Chi Ebert-Pelo of Staunton, Tori Devries-Temme of St. Peters, MO, Joey Pieper of Belleville, Jennifer Stewart of Gillespie, Gina Matthews and Shaila Lesicko, both of Worden; a niece, Mary Baker of Lampe, MO; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; friends; and her family at The Glenwood Assisted Living.

 She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Jackie Dale Stewart; granddaughter, Laila Stewart; sister-in-law, Louise Deming; and daughter-in-law, Ann Stewart.
