Lorraine Luczak, 84, of Taylorville, formerly of Morrisonville, died on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Taylorville Care Center.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Christudasan Kurisadima, S.A.C. officiating. The Mass will be celebrated for her daughter, Michelle, as well. Interment will be held at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville at a later date. Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family.

Mrs. Luczak was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Chicago, to Adam J. and Dorothy M. (Thompson) Stripeik. She married Richard J. “Dick” Luczak on April 30, 1960, in Stickney (now Burbank), and he survives.

She graduated from the Little Company of Mary School of Nursing in Evergreen Park in 1958. She worked her entire career as a registered nurse, eventually retiring from St. Vincent’s Memorial Hospital in Taylorville in 1985.

Upon her retirement, Mrs. Luczak co-owned and operated Sarge’s Country Pub and Eatery in Morrisonville with her husband until 1995.

She was a long-time member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Luczak is survived by her daughters, Carmen Luczak of Raymond and Michelle (husband Richard) Fuchs of O’Fallon; sons, Louie (wife Shirl) of Florence, OR, Tom (wife Laurie) of Aiea, HI, and Pete Luczak of Springfield; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; siblings, Judy (husband Fred) Sterling of Palos Hills and Bill (wife Jean) Stripeik of Mokena; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Luczak; and sister, Virginia Burgin.
