Louis 'Lee' E. Hayes, 60

Louis "Lee" Earl Hayes, 60, died at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Lawton, pastor of United Methodist Church of Hillsboro, will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.

Mr. Hayes was born on July 27, 1958, in Hillsboro, to Earl L. and Mary Ann (Henson) Hayes. He was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro High School, earned an associate degree in science and attended Eastern Illinois University. While he was in high school, he was a member of the Biology Club and the cross country team.

Mr. Hayes was employed as a truck driver. He was a dedicated WWE wrestling fan, and was deeply inspired by John Cena's work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Mr. Hayes is survived by his siblings, Ruth (Steve) Ernst of Hillsboro, Kenneth (Maureen) Hayes of Butler and Tony Hayes of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Donna Jean Hayes and Merle Weller.
