Louise A. Brummet, 96, of Nokomis, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at 6:51 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, from noon until 2 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Nokomis Cemetery.
Mrs. Brummet was born March 9, 1923, in Fayette County, the daughter of Frank and Della (Porter) Dodson. She married Clyde Brummet on June 6, 1946, in Hopewell Baptist Church, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2012.
She is survived by children, Larry (Deanna) Brummet of St. Jacob, Shirley (Donnie) Clontz of Washington, Jerry (Cathy) Brummet of Ramsey and Barbara Smith of Monticello; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Amber) Dodson of Pana; and sister, Evelyn Brummet of Mattoon.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Leuschke in 2019; sisters, Verna Hill and Margaret Lush; and brothers, Nova, James and Harvey Dodson.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis.
