Louise Catherine “Wesee” Reed, 67, of Ashley, died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

A private funeral service will be held. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Moss Funeral Home in Breese is assisting the family.

Mrs. Reed was born Sept. 19, 1954, in Breese, to Joseph and Clara (Thien) Athmer. She married Ron “Rooman” Reed, originally from Hillsboro, on May 17, 1997, at Camp Joy in Carlyle, and he survives.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, as well as the Vietnam Veterans Auxiliary.

Mrs. Reed retired from medical records at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Her hobbies included traveling the country in the RV, watching NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals baseball, baking, crafting, sewing, painting, gardening and bird watching. She loved listening to piano music and spending time with her grandchildren.  She lived life to the fullest.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reed is survived by her children, Kevin (Sieann) Dierkes of Oroville, CA, Christine (Ray) Bauer of Oakville, MO, and Roxanne (Josh) Farmer of Centralia; stepchildren, Stacie (Ross) Schultze of Ashley and Brian Reed of Radom; grandchildren, Brandon Dierkes, Michael (Savannah) Ziegler, Heather (Justin) Steele, Raymond Bauer III, Matthew Griesemer, Joshua Bauer, Samantha Bauer, Kadin Dierkes, Alana Dierkes, Jada Schultze, Hunter Schultze, Grant Reed and Ella Reed; great-grandson, Wyatt Steele; siblings, Joseph Athmer of Belleville, Tom (special friend Shirley Budde) Athmer, Bernie (Lynn) Athmer, both of Albers, and Bob (Linda) Athmer of Aviston; brother-in-law, Leonard Beer of Germantown; sister-in-law, Jeanette Athmer of Aviston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Beer; and sister-in-law, Judy Athmer.
