A conference rival held Lincolnwood to its lowest point totals of the season and kept the Lancers from win number 900 in the program’s history on Thursday, Sept. 26, as the Lancers fell to the Lutheran Crusaders in two games.
Playing in their home gym, the Crusaders dispatched the Lancers 25-12 in game one, then nearly equalled that effort in game two with a 25-15 win.
Katelyn Payne would lead the team in kills with four, followed by Madison Krager with three, Avery Pope with two and Cassie Krager with one. Pope also led the team in assists with eight.
Lexie Millburg, Sidney Glick, Maggie McClelland and Kyra Shull all had three service points for the Lancers, with Shull earning Lincolnwood’s only ace.
Defensively, Millburg led the team with six digs, while Cassie Krager and Pope had five each. Sidney Glick (four), Maggie McClelland (three) and Madison Krager (one) also had digs, while Katelyn Payne had a team-best three blocks.
Lincolnwood moved to 14-4 on the season and 3-1 in MSM Conference play, while Lutheran improved to 12-7 with a perfect 4-0 mark in the MSM.
The Lancers will look for win number 900 on Monday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Litchfield for this year’s Dig for a Cure game against the Purple Panthers. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Lincolnwood has another in-county rivalry on tap as they play Nokomis on the Redskins’ home court.
