Lynda Rose (Bockewitz) Mitchell, 51, of Clinton, died at 3:48 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton with Cody Monkman officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at Harvel Cemetery in Harvel. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on Dec. 23, 1974, in Litchfield, the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Knetzer) Bockewitz. She married Harold Mitchell Oct. 29, 2023, in Clinton.
Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate from Elmhurst College; she also received a PhD from Jackson State University. She was the vice president of indirect lending at Land of Lincoln Credit Union in Springfield. She really enjoyed animals and spending time with her pets.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Mitchell of Clinton; stepchildren, Christopher Mitchell of Clinton and Tyler (Autumn) Mitchell of Clinton; mother-in-law, Lonna Fry of Lincoln; one step-granddaughter, Lily Mitchell; three nieces, Sarah (Mike) Featherstone of Carlinville, Jennifer (Matt) Mahnke of Pana and Raina (Herb) Tarver of Jackson, MI; two nephews, Adam Bailey of Taylorville and Broc Lutrell of California; niece, Letesha (Mike) Diaz of California; and siblings, Kimberly (Wes) Felty of Raymond, Sue Bailey of Raymond and Karl Luttrell of California.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathy Riley; and two nieces, Amber and Brittany Elliott.
