Malcolm “Bo” White, 61, of Greenville, died on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Select Hospital in St. Charles, MO.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1100 Killarney Drive, Greenville. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Tyson Graber officiating. Assalley-Young Funeral Home in Greenville is assisting the family.

Mr. White was born Nov. 20, 1960, in Memphis, TN, to George and Sara (Copeland) White, Sr. He married Emilie Ann Mangrum on Dec. 19, 1998, in Mulberry Grove, and she survives.

After graduating from Mulberry Grove High School, he worked a variety of jobs in the area before moving to Missouri for a few years. Upon his return to Greenville, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served for eight years.

Once he was honorably discharged, Mr. White took a job at United Stationers, where he worked until retirement and was awarded employee of the month, as well as several teamwork awards.

He was a member of the First Christian Church for about 15 years. Following his retirement, he served as the church’s custodian and was a jack of all trades, helping in all capacities. He loved to read his Bible and did so faithfully.

Most who knew Mr. White would say he was very devout, truthful, caring, strong in his beliefs and genuine all the way around. He loved his family dearly and was very close and loving with them.

He was a wildly, avid Greenville High School Comets fan. He enjoyed going to the games and cheering his team. The family asks that those attending the services wear their “Comets Color,” which is blue and white, in his memory.

In addition to his wife, Mr. White is survived by his daughter, CaSondra Crump of Mulberry Grove; stepsons, Aaron Wright of Effingham, Timothy Roberts of Marion and Nicholas Roberts of Greenville; grandchildren, Haylee, Jason, Lilly, Miley, Logan, Raiden, Luca and one grandson on the way; siblings, Brenda Poppenhouse of Assumption, George (Flo) White, Jr., Polly (Rich) Galvin, both  of Pana, Sandy (James) Pritts of Shelbyville, Melody (Rick) Brown of Kinmundy, William White of Vandalia and Stacy Hyder of Cisne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jack Mabry Roberts; and a nephew, Wesley Ellison.
