Male In His 60s Is Tenth County COVID-19 Death


The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced the tenth COVID-19 coronavirus death in Montgomery County on Thursday, Sept. 3.

According to IDPH, the fatal Montgomery County coronavirus case was a male in his 60s, one of 25 deaths confirmed in the state on Thursday.  That came one day after IDPH had announced the ninth death in Montgomery County, a male in his 90s.

As of Monday, Sept. 7, the Montgomery County Health Department reported 15 new cases in the past week for a positivity rate of 1.3 percent.  The new cases bring the total to 259.

The Illinois Department of Corrections reported as of Monday, Sept. 7, 18 of the 30 staff members at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro have now recovered from the virus, as have two of the three inmates who have tested positive.
