Margaret E. Nelson, 95, of Hillsboro, formerly of Fillmore, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Fillmore Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Myron Kirk and Mike Plummer co-officiating. Burial will be held in Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore.
Mrs. Nelson was born Dec. 11, 1923, in East Alton, to Lee F. and E. Viola (Rader) Squires. She married Howard Harold Nelson on Oct. 3, 1941, in St. Charles, MO, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1995.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fillmore Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her son, Bob (Bonnie) Nelson of Fillmore; daughters, Mary (Dennis) Stewart of Mulberry Grove and Phyllis (Ed) Schultz of Ramsey; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard and Kenneth Squires; sisters, Ruth Ash and Shirley Campbell; and grandson, Michael.
Memorials may be directed to Fillmore Baptist Church or Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund.
