Marilou Huber, 93, of Witt, died on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at Life's Journey Senior Living in Taylorville.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, with rosary to begin at 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church. 

Burial will follow at St. Barbara's Catholic Cemetery in Witt. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Huber was born on Sept. 14, 1924, in Irving, to Louis and Mary (Carriker) Colonius. She married Lawrence W. Huber on May 30, 1948, at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Witt, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1992.

She earned her bachelors of science degree in home economics and science, graduating as valedictorian of her high school class and college class.

Mrs. Huber taught school from the 1940s to the 1980s.

She belonged to the Witt Ladies Card Club and Phi Beta Kappa sorority. She was also a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Witt and the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis.

Mrs. Huber is survived by her children, Daniel (Roselyn) Huber and Philip (Missy) Huber, both of Witt, Karen (Dave) Patkus of Nokomis, Carla (Ben) Limbaugh of Batavia, Laura Durbin, Lorene (Mike) Cambruzzi and Vernon (Tina) Huber, all of Taylorville, and Bruce (Julie) Huber of Mt. Zion; grandchildren, Marc, Todd, Janette, Gina, Sara, Anne, Jon, Evan, Walter, Matt, Letha, Anya, Brett, Heather, Kristin, Eric, Jenelle, Kris, Vincent, Nikolas, Ashley, Brandon, Samantha, Megan, Aaron, Alyssa, Michael, Amanda and Justin; great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Sierra, Madison, Maddi, Violet, Vanessa, Seth, Calissa, Breanna, Noah, Ava, Emmalena, Jacob, Maddy, Anna, Nathan, Jared, Jeremiah, Alyssa, Matthew, Tanya, Kalab, Hannah, Zoey, Landri, Avianna, Alexander, Amanda, Savanna, Haillie, Owen, Hollie, Dominic, Keira, Addilyn, Emery, Cohen, Madison, Kennadie and Carter; and siblings, James Colonius of Taylorville, Martha Atkinson of Bartlesville, OK, Darrell (Sharon) Colonius of Edinburg, Lynda Hutchinson of Jerome and Phil and Beverly Colonius of Springfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Isabella; and two siblings, Lamar Colonius and Ruth Bowers.
