Marilyn Jewel Thacker, 86, of Hillsboro, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at her home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Thacker was born June 22, 1934, to Robert and Ruth (Elam) Ellington. She married Donald Williamson, and he preceded her in death. She later married Maynard Thacker, and he also preceded her in death.

She served as a utility worker at CIPS for 20 years. A member of the Schram City Baptist Church, she enjoyed baking, doing yard work, taking trips with her sister Blanche and being with her family.

Mrs. Thacker is survived by her son, Donald (Cindy) Williamson of Hillsboro; daughter, Janet Viernum of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Jason, Dawn, Traci, Megan, Jon, Krista, Latasha and Angela; great-grandchildren, Keagan, Madison, Taylor, Brandon, Hailey, Quentin, Brantley, Nicholas, Hailie, Josie, Zackary, Dallas, Jasmine, Emma, McKinley, Mikey and Harlon; great-great-grandchild, Alaney; and siblings, Blanche Green of Hillsboro, Shirley (Bruce) Theobald of Plainville and Rich Ellington of Mt. Olive.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brian Williamson; brothers, Charles Ellington, Ronald Ellington and Loyd Ellington; and son-in-law, Louis Viernum.
