Marilyn Sue Leuschke, 66, of Hillsboro, died on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Ronald D. Rhodus of Carlinville officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Leuschke was born Feb. 12, 1953, in Pana, to Chester Clyde and Louise (Dodson) Brummet. She married Randall Leuschke on Dec. 7, 1985, in Springfield, and he survives.

She graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1971, and during her lifetime, resided in Pana, Nokomis, Waverly, Springfield, Irving and Hillsboro.

During her career, Mrs. Leuschke worked as a clerk typist for the Secretary of State of Illinois, owned and operated Star Acres Riding Stables and a cleaning service, provided in-home care, sold crochet items on her Etsy site and was even a homemaker.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro and served as a foster parent to many children over the years. An organ and tissue donor, she was an avid dog and horse lover, loved to garden, grow flowers and be outdoors.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Leuschke is survived by her mother of Hillsboro; children, Kimberly (Dan) Wilson of Kearney, MO, Jeremy (Brenda) Neathery of Irving, Jordan (Michelle) Leuschke of Lutz, FL, Crystal Leuschke of Decatur and Laura Leuschke of Inkster, MI; eight grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters, Shirley (Donnie) Clontz, Larry (Deanna) Brummet, Jerry (Cathy) Brummet and Barb Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father.
