Marjorie E. (Huber) Simmons, 85, of Coffeen, died at 10:05 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Toberman Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at Toberman Dean Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Noyes officiating. Burial will be at Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Simmons was born on July 12, 1933, in Fillmore, to Herschel F. and Laura Sylvia (Reubart) Huber. She lived in the Coffeen area for the majority of her life and was a 1951 graduate of Coffeen High School. On June 10, 1956, she married Russell Allen Simmons at the Coffeen Free Methodist Church.  Mrs. Simmons was employed by Hillsboro National Bank and the Montgomery County Health Department in Hillsboro. She was an active member of the community and belonged to the Red Hat Ladies, the Prime Timers, the Farm Bureau and the Royal Neighbors. Mrs. Simmons was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and she loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was happiest spending time with family and friends. She liked to babysit and loved putting puzzles together.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by  three children, Jill (Alan) Holderread of Hillsboro, Lisa (Steve) Terneus of Wildwood, MO, and Robin (Bill) Clinard of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Blake Holderread, Jordan (Greg) Nelson, Matthew (Emily) Terneus, Jacob Terneus, Joshua (fiancee Katie) Clinard, and Nathan Clinard; three great-grandchildren, Adyson Clinard, Landon Clinard, and Mila Nelson; a sister, Melvine Blackburn of O'Fallon, MO; and a brother-in-law, Charles Bohmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Janet Bohmer.
