Mark D. Thompson, 62, of Benld, died at 3:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at his home.
No public services will be held. Kravanya Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Thompson was born on March 14, 1957, in Alton, to Bob Thompson and Sandy (Bryant) Thompson. He married Sharon (Tucker) Thompson on May 3, 1983, in Alton. Mr. Thompson was a retired steelworker for Laclede Steel, United Steelworkers of America Local #3643 of Alton. In his spare time he enjoyed model railroading.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his mother; wife; children, James Thompson of Hillsboro, William Thompson of Benld and Geoff Thompson of Gillespie; grandchildren, Jesse Thompson, Luke Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Caleb Thompson and Parker Thompson; siblings, Nancy Collman of New Douglas and Guy Thompson of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his father.
