Marsha Kay (nee Fravala) Grabbe, 78, of Fillmore, died on Feb. 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Visitation will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Fillmore on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Final services will take place at Nokomis Cemetery. Hough-Dean Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Born and raised in Hillsboro, Mrs. Grabbe spent her life caring for others through her work, her faith and her relationships. She was a passionate speech pathology teacher who touched countless lives throughout her career. She served students in Nokomis and Fillmore before returning to Hillsboro, where she continued teaching in the Coffeen and Hillsboro schools until her retirement.

She met her husband, Philip Richard Grabbe, in 1965. They were married on Sept. 9, 1967, and shared 58 years together. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Fillmore, where her faith was an important part of  her life and community.

Above all else, Mrs. Grabbe was a devoted wife, mother and Gege. She loved spending time with friends and family, attending church and especially spoiling her beloved granddaughters, who brought her immeasurable joy.

She is survived by her husband; son, G.P. Grabbe; daughters, Kara (Marcus) Renwick and Kim Marie Grabbe; cherished granddaughters, Kaylie Renwick and Kalynn Renwick; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Henry Fravala; mother, Virginia “Jean” (nee Caulk) Fravala; sister, Connie Jean (Larry) Phillips; brother, George Michael (Carol) Fravala; and son-in-law, Marcus Scott Renwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
