Martha E. Austin, 84, of Litchfield, formerly of Herrick, died on Friday, April 17, 2020, at Aperion Care in Litchfield.
Private graveside services and interment will be held at Myers Cemetery in Herrick with Pastor Terry Sapp officiating. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Austin was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to Clifton Everett and Lenna Faye (Sarver) Hadley. She married Huelet Harrison Austin on May 30, 1953, in Herrick, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2003.
She grew up in the Herrick Methodist Church and was a devoted follower of Christ her entire life.
Mrs. Austin was a homemaker. She was also “grandma” to many of the staff and residents at Aperion Care, who were so very dear to her and her family. Mrs. Austin’s family extends their deepest gratitude.
She is survived by her daughters, Deanne (Jeffrey) Laskey of Vincennes, IN, and Darla (Jim Holloron) Austin of Frenchtown, MT; grandchildren, James (Shawna) Austin, John (Maddie) Benjamin, Elizabeth Ann (Paul) and Rebecca Hadley; and great-grandchildren, James Randall, Henley Austin, Isaac Benjamin and Camdyn Avery.
In lieu of flowers or a donation to a charitable cause, the family suggests that those who wish to honor Mrs. Austin may do so by performing a random act of kindness, which is especially appropriate during these times.
