Martha Louise DeSantis, 59, of Nokomis, died Monday, March 9, 2020, at 5:54 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Shafer-Perfetti and Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville 

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dayle Badman officiating. Interment will follow the ceremony at Kettlekamp Cemetery in Nokomis.

Mrs. DeSantis was born Oct. 13, 1960, in Deland, FL, the daughter of Ralph E. and Mary L. (Hickox) Rosser. 

A graduate of Umatilla High School in Florida, she went on to graduate first in her class from Daytona Beach College. She was brilliant, and always wanted to continue learning. 

She worked for many years as a nurse in Florida, as well as for Meadow Manor and Taylorville Memorial Hospital. Her life was her music and her beloved animals. She enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar.  Most of all, she loved raising her peacocks and kittens.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, Richard Rose of Nokomis; daughters, Amanda (husband Steven) Nelson of Oswego and Jaclyn (husband Sam) Bajrami of Kincaid; son, Robert Rose of Nokomis; grandchildren, Alivia, Ethan and Elijah Nelson of Oswego, and Max Bajrami of Kincaid;  sister, Susan Rosser of Pine Lakes, FL; niece and nephew, Brianna Rosser and Jacob Hokaszewski; mother-in-law, Betty Rose of Taylorville; sisters-in-law, Debbie (husband William) Breckenridge of Lewistown and Diana Scarpaci of Taylorville; and brother-in-law, Dan Rose of Taylorville.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert Rose.
