Martha Sue Miller, 83, of Strongsville, OH, formerly of Hillsboro, died on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 20, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Ed Fogel officiating. Burial will be at Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Miller was born on March 9, 1940, in Newton, to the late Everett N. and Catherine Margurette (Webster) Fehrenbacher. She married Jerry Edwards on Aug. 28, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1985. She then married Alvin Walter Miller on Nov. 3, 1985, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2021. She had worked as a funeral assistant for Meinschein Funeral Home in Litchfield and was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Mrs. Miller loved playing the piano and writing her own songs and poems. Her opus was the affectionately titled song “Bug Spray,” dedicated to her late husband Alvin. Most of all she loved being a homemaker.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her children, Mark (wife, Rebecca) Edwards of Cleveland, OH, and  Susan (husband, Max) Roach of Covington, TN; step-children, Sharon (companion, James Hires) Johnson of Litchfield, Susan (husband, Charles) Coy of Vandalia, Serena (husband, Todd) Hennings of Attica, IN, Steven Miller of Peoria, AZ, and Stanley Miller of Fayetteville, NC;  16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (husband, Ned) of Bethalto.

Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry “Karl” Edwards in 1994; and brother, Ronald Fehrenbacher.
