Martin “Marty” Douglas Whitler, 55, of Girard, diedon Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Whitler was born on Dec. 27, 1965 ,in Springfield, to Hal and Carolyn (Archibald) Whitler. He was a graduate of Girard High School and worked as a veterinary tech for Dr. Darrell Jessen for 20 years. Mr. Whitler loved his dog, Bubba, and spending time outdoors metal detecting, hunting mushrooms, ginseng and arrowheads.
Mr. Whitler is survived by his siblings, Becky (Phil) Williams of Carlinville, Phil(Mary Jane) Whitler of Litchfield, Gail(Stu)Hunt of Girard and Cheryl Turley of Girard; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
