Marty Williams, 72

Marty Williams, 72, of Katy, TX, died on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Katy Funeral Home in Katy, TX. Anyone considering attending may contact the Bereavement Travel Program, recommended by the funeral home, which can aid in making arrangements, 1-800-224-4177.

Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 15, 1948, in Litchfield, to Sylvester (Fute) and Emma (Bert) Bishop. She married her husband of 51 years, Dave Williams, and he survives.

A longtime resident of Katy, TX, she worked nearly 20 years for Katy High School in the snack bar. Prior to that, she worked at Renaissance Nursing Home, where she met some great friends whom she called family.

Mrs. Williams was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was loyal, loved unconditionally and had compassion for all. She was a phenomenal mom to include not only her own children, but their friends as well. One thing for sure is she knew best, regardless whether one agreed or not.

She had many interests and hobbies. Most important was her family and making sure that everyone was taken care of. Quality time was also very important with family, which included all holidays, arts and crafts, games, puzzles, Bingo, baking old family recipes and an occasional casino trip.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons, Bret (wife Katrina) Williams of Katy, TX, and Brian Williams of Houston, TX; daughter, Emily (husband Michael) Billingsley of North Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Williams, Brayden Williams, Bailey Williams, Kensley Williams, all of Katy, TX, Madison Williams, Rylan Williams and Kalyn Williams, all of Houston, TX; great-grandson, Bryce Koscelnik of Houston, TX; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
