Mary Alice Woolard, 81, of Nokomis, died on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 7:03 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitaiton will be held Tuesday, June 11, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in Mound Cemetery in Pana. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Woolard was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Norris City, to John Frankie and Zella Irene (Smith) Bowers. She married Eugene May. She later married James Woolard on Dec. 27, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2017.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star. She served as a tech at the Family Development Center.
Mrs. Woolard is survived by Gene May of Pensacola, FL; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Vera Dean Pease of Centralia, Brenda Sue Forbes and Edith May Dial, both of St. Elmo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; children, Juanita Lynn, Della Marie and Crystal Dean; and siblings, Marilyn, Mavis, Johnny, Jim, Jeanie and Debbie.
