Mary C. Costas, 86, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 2:10 p.m. at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.
In accordance to her wishes, her body was cremated and no services have been scheduled. Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Costas was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Raymond, the daughter of Leo and Catherine (Burkhart) Ohren. She married Christos Costas on June 2, 1973, in Litchfield, and he survives.
She had been the registrar at East Alton-Wood River Community High School for 18 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, and was a member of the Wood River Women's Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Rick Boone of Maryville; daughter, Sandy Boone of Wood River; and brother, Thomas Jones of Litchfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Charles Ohren.
