Mary Kathryn Brown, 77, of Farmersville, died on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with family by her side.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville, beginning with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be conducted Friday, July 30, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. John Burnette officiating. Burial will be held at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Farmersville. Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon is assisting the family.

Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 24, 1943, in Hillsboro, to Betty Martin. She married William “Bill” L. Brown on Feb. 12, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville, and he survives.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1961. She retired from the State of Illinois after over 20 years of service.

Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed attending Knights of Columbus functions, playing golf, reading books from the local library and spending time with her family. Her two granddaughters were her pride and joy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Tim (companion Alisha Anker) Brown of Greenview; daughter, Selena (John) Gorman of Waggoner; two granddaughters, Taylor Brown of Alton and Rachael (friend Kolby Nimmo) Gorman of Farmersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her mother; grandmother; three aunts; and an uncle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Martin’s Cemetery or the Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group.
