Mary Margaret (McGann/Robb) Dal Pozzo, 79, formerly of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in hospice, surrounded by her family at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Calvary Cemetery in Pittsfield. The Nursing Honor Guard Ceremony will be on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 3:50 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m. and visitation will be held immediately following from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Dal Pozzo was born in Tampa, FL on Sept. 9, 1944, to George Edward and Mary Josephine McGann. She was raised in Pittsfield, graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1962. Mrs. Dal Pozzo attended nursing school at St. Vincent De Paul in St Louis, graduating as an RN in 1965. She married the late Jon Ross Robb on June 5, 1965. This union produced two children, Margaret Flynn and Christopher McGann Robb. She was employed as an RN in Pittsfield, Hannibal, Quincy and Barry. She and Mr. Robb were very active in the former Pittsfield Theater Guild, headed by her husband.

After the death of her first husband, the family moved to Hillsboro. She married Mark Dal Pozzo, the director of bands at Hillsboro High School. Mrs. Dal Pozzo continued to care for people in various nursing positions. She worked with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients for most of her career and was proud to have developed the first downstate certified Alzheimer’s unit.

A few years after retirement, the Dal Pozzo’s moved to Tallula to be closer to family. They enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Dal Pozzo; daughter Margaret (Fred) Flynn LaVigne and son Christopher (Amy) McGann Robb; grandsons Jon-Mark Robb and Tyler LaVigne and granddaughters Alex (Ryan) Cecil and Nikki (Chelsea) Saunders; great-granddaughters Willow and Riley Cecil and Lillian and Madelyn Saunders; sister Kathleen McGann of Pittsfield, brother Patrick McGann (Jennifer) of Anacortes, WA, and brother David (Helen) of Huntsville, TX.

Mrs. Dal Pozzo was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George Michael McGann and James Raymond McGann, husband Jon Ross Robb, and numerous grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
