Mary V. Cavanaugh, 74, of Gillespie, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center in Gillespie on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 12:12 a.m.
Friends may call on Monday, June 15, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Memorial Mass will follow at SS Simon and Jude Church at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Cavanaugh was born on Sept. 9, 1951, in Litchfield, to Harry M. Cavanaugh and Barbara “Bibs” Fuderich Cavanaugh. She was an administrative assistant for the Illinois State Police of Litchfield. She was a graduate of the Gillespie High School class of 1969.
She is survived by her daughters, Jamie (Tyson Wagner) Chapman of Freeburg and Mindy Jenkins of Edwardsville; granddaughters, Madyx Whaley, Dallas Jenkins and Naveah Chapman; sister, Ann (Dave) Bedinger of Denton, TX; brothers, Harry (Pat) Cavanaugh and Michael (Anne) Cavanaugh; and former husband, James Davis of Gillespie.
Ms. Cavanaugh was preceded in death by her parents.
