Matthew T. Jones, 27, of Taylor Springs, died on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 6:47 p.m. at his residence.
Cremation rites were accorded and private family services will be held. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones was born July 20, 1991, in Hillsboro, to Steve and Jackie (Beane) Jones.
He attended Hillsboro High School, and went on to work for TC4 in Vandalia as a laborer.
Mr. Jones loved playing baseball and guitar, and was a natural athlete. He enjoyed being outdoors, and lived in the Hillsboro and Taylor Springs areas during his lifetime.
He is survived by his parents of Taylor Springs; a sister, Jennifer (husband Mark) Carlock of Hillsboro; grandparents, Bill and Beverley Sue Jones of Coffeen; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Margaret Beane.
